Effective home remedies to control cholesterol

Coriander seeds

A study published in the Indian Journal of Pharmacology compared the effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs and amla.

Psyllium husk

Psyllium husk, a rich source of soluble fiber, is made from crushed seeds of the Plantago ovata plant.

Many studies support the benefits of soluble fiber in lowering LDL cholesterol.

One study found an increase in HDL levels, while another showed no effect, and the evidence for its effect on HDL, or good cholesterol, is conflicting.

Eating 1/2 to 1 clove of garlic daily can lower cholesterol levels.

Fenugreek seeds (Methi)

Since the beginning of time, fenugreek seeds, as they are often called, have been used as a popular culinary spice, flavoring ingredient and medicinal herb.

Fenugreek seeds are rich in vitamin E and have anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Fenugreek’s saponin and fiber work to eliminate cholesterol from the body and reduce its production in the liver, respectively.

It is recommended to consume 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds daily.
